IS THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG? Is a single-channel video, which is made by collected Chinese hatred comments on the websites. It is inspired by Cassette Effect by Yanabu Akira, which is the loss or changed meaning among words during language translation. LENA believes the process that to write hatred comments and to listen or to speak them can be similar. This video is a test of in-out put hatred words. LENA collected Sinophobia comments and hired actors to speak them up, and mixed visualized the fear, as hiding behind nicknames. Pseudo has two-faced and its effect could be totally different by users. LENA aims to display the worst phenomenon underneath COVID-19 through this single-channel video. This video is projected for an exhibition of the same name, and it was set up from 20th to 30th May 2020 at Space55 in Seoul.
